The Lyme Old Lyme Lions 18th Annual Classic Car Show
The Lions are again pleased to sponsor our 18th Annual Car Show celebrating the classics,the antiques and the exotics! All Net Income from the Show will go to the 16-18 local charities we support as well as scholarships we offer to qualified high school seniors and existing students who are residents of Lyme/Old Lyme enrolling in a community college, college, university or vocational/technical school.
The Car Show on July 29 will be on the beautiful grounds of the Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center [Connecticut Audubon Society] on 100 Old Lyme Street in Old Lyme, CT [between exits 70 and 71 off I-95] as it has been for many previous years. This event is the major fundraiser for the Lyme/Old Lyme Lions Club and it helps us "Serve" the community's charitable entities as well as offer educational scholarships. Cars can arrive at 8:30am with the show opening to the public at 9:30am until 1:30pm. Spectator admission is $5.00 and the car entry fee is $20[ includes driver and one passenger]. There are 13 car classes for the show with a People's Choice award ballot approach. Trophies will be given out for each car category class with trophies for 1st and 2nd place and plaques awarded for 3rd place. Dash plates will also be given to the first 100 show cars to register. Food for car owners and spectators is available and prepared by the Lions Club to usually include the summer fare of burgers,cheeseburgers,hotdogs and fries.
The Car Show occurs in conjunction with the Lyme /Old Lyme Mid-Summer Festival which occurs Friday and Saturday July 28-29.This is a family oriented event with something for everyone to include art exhibits [fence artists], music concerts, food, crafts fairs, a 5k summer run, many kids activities, involvement of the Lyme Art Association, Lyme Academy of Fine Arts, and Florence Griswold Museum among others. A great fun Day!
