2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Eastern CT set for September 27th

September 9, 2025 (Connecticut) – The Connecticut Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association invites you to the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, Eastern CT on September 27th at Ocean Beach Park in New London.

Fox 61 Meteorologist Matt Scott will serve as emcee. Matt is a longtime supporter of the Connecticut Chapter and honors all of those living with the disease, their families, people who have lost loved ones and everyone who is concerned about their brain health.

On Walk Day, participants honor those affected by Alzheimer’s and all other dementia with the poignant Promise Garden ceremony – a mission-focused experience that signifies our solidarity in the fight against the disease. During the ceremony, walkers will carry flowers of various colors, each color representing their personal connection to the disease.

Kevin Harris of Deep River, who works for Edward Jones, is chair of this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Eastern CT. His mother passed with Frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

There are 80 thousand people in Connecticut living with Alzheimer's disease, and twice as many caregivers – the majority are unpaid family members.

“With solid evidence that lifestyle interventions can reduce your risk of cognitive decline, and two FDA-Approved treatments available for those in the early stages of the disease, we are in an exciting time in research and care,” says Laura Hoffman, Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter.  “We need people to know we are here for them, wherever they are on their journey. Join us at a Walk to End Alzheimer’s this Fall and see that you are not alone.”

To register for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Eastern CT go to act.alz.org/easternct or alz.org/walk to sign up for any of our 6 Walks in Connecticut this Fall.
